DNR NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR FIRE
Clay Township's fire chief, Daryl DuPage, would like the residents of the island to know that
the DNR was NOT responsible for the out of control wildfire on Monday. An investigation has shown that the fire could not have started from the DNR's controlled burn. It isn't logistically possible.
Also, the Clay Township Police are looking for any possible leads to the fire as they believe it was set intentionally. If anyone has seen or heard something of a suspicious nature they should contact Chief Donald Drake directly by phone, 794-9381, or e-mail, chiefdrake@claytownship.org.
